Cuba
"La negra tiene tumbao." - Celia Cruz
On the surface, Havana appears to be a city stuck in time. The Spanish-colonial architecture mixed with the vibrant colors and bustling with noise from classic cars and horse-drawn carriages bumbling down the street surely wouldn't convince you otherwise. Many layers open up to you as more suns set and temperatures rise during your time here. You could visit Old Havana one afternoon and take a bus to the plethora of playas lining the coast or stroll along the Malecón and get freshly made icees. Maybe you'd like to take a ride in a classic car or visit the Buena Vista Social Club. No matter your interest or time frame, Havana has much more to offer than initially meets the eye.

L'Italia-Italy
“Trust yourself. Think for yourself. Act for yourself. Speak for yourself. Be yourself. Imitation is suicide.” – Marva Collins
Founded in 753 BC, Rome is home to some stunning and well-kept historical sites. The city you can walk in a day offers its ruins and landmarks along cobblestone pathways and crowded streets. The zealous tourist gets to casually stroll by the Colosseum, Vatican City, and Trevi Fountain, just to name a few. I’d be remiss if I didn’t too mention the pasta, pizza or Lemoncello. The makings of this city effortlessly creates an intimate experience in Italy’s most populated commune.

España-spain
"I am deliberate and afraid of nothing." -Audre Lorde
Quite literally, where all the magic begins. The historic city of Madrid was home while I studied abroad, but the country of Spain opened me to a world of culture, food, and people that I'd never experienced before.
While I lived in Madrid, I was fortunate enough to visit other beautiful, ancient cities like Barcelona and Toledo during my stay. From the Sagrada Familia on a Wednesday morning to the discoteca Shoko Madrid on a Saturday night, Spain has a peculiar way of transporting you from the antiquated to the modern that fosters your desire for, both, an enriching experience and a good time.

London, England
"Life is short, and it's up to you to make it sweet." -Sadie Delaney
3 days and 4 nights in one of the most electric cities left me with a lasting impression that even my memory continues to try to do the experience justice. Read on as I recollect "break dancers" at Trafalgar Square, Black taxis, red double-deckers, Oxford Street and getting lost (& found) at Elephant & Castle.

Schweiz-suisse-switzerland
"Success isn't about how much money you make. It's about the difference you make in people's lives." -Michelle Obama
72 hours was not nearly enough time to fully receive all that Switzerland had to offer, but that didn't stop me from trying. Mountainous landscapes, real beef burgers from McDonald's, and the Maison Cailler (an interactive chocolate factory) are just minor things this majestic country has to offer.
